Welcome to Sven’s World

A family’s growing record of activities, materials, and concepts that actually made a difference. All of it documented as we go.

Discover Our Story

Our Sandbox

Not a curriculum. Not a brand. Just what actually worked for us.

We’re Sven’s parents, and we live in Cagayan de Oro, Philippines. A while back, we started writing down what worked — the activities that genuinely excited him, the materials we kept reaching for, and the projects that taught him something without feeling like school. It spans a lot: logic and building, yes, but also art, storytelling, nature, and the occasional happy accident. If you’re looking for real ideas from a real family, pull up a chair.

What We’ve Built, Tested, and Actually Used

A growing collection of activities, guides, and materials built from real experience at home. Hands-on enough to do today, purposeful enough to mean something tomorrow.

01.

Real Projects, Documented

Photos, materials lists, and honest notes from activities we’ve actually done with Sven. Not polished for perfection, just shared so you can replicate or adapt them for your own child.

02.

Activity Roadmaps

Step-by-step guides built from things we’ve tested at home. Each one connects a hands-on activity to a real concept, so you know why you’re doing it, not just what to do.

03.

What We Use

The kits, tools, apps, and materials we keep coming back to. Some are international brands, some are locally sourced, and some we put together ourselves. If we used it with Sven, it’s here.

What we stand for

How We Think About Learning at Home

These aren’t rules we follow. They’re patterns we noticed after doing this long enough.

01

Play First, Always

We introduce activities, then step back. No agenda, no expected outcome. We watch what he gravitates toward, what he ignores, and what he keeps coming back to. What works points us forward. What doesn’t is just as useful — it tells us what to adjust before we try again.

02

Understand It, Then Build It

We look up the concept, read about it, talk about it, then we make something with it. Theory without application fades. Building without understanding is just a craft. We try to do both.

03

Screens Can Earn Their Place

We’re not anti-screen. We’re selective. Apps, tools, and platforms that ask a child to create, solve, or experiment get a seat at the table. Passive viewing doesn’t.

04

What Doesn’t Work Is Still Data

Not every activity lands the first time. When something falls flat, we ask why, adjust the format, and try again. The misses are part of the record, too.

Stay in the Loop

Come Back Often. There’s Always Something New.

We post when we do things, not on a schedule. New projects, updated guides, and honest write-ups get added as life with Sven unfolds. Subscribe to stay in the loop, browse what’s already here, or find us on social media where we share the in-between moments that don’t always make it to the site.
